We want to run a statistical sales forecast for 10,000 products using a HANA SQL procedure calling a PAL time series statistical function
We are using the classic BPC models (for various reasons including requiring the standard BPC comments functionality) and callout of to HANA procedures to run the statistical forecast natively in HANA and write to a HANA table. So you can think of it as a HANA SQL procedure using PAL time series functions (double exponential)
We are forecasting 10,000 products with 3 years worth of history (36 monthly data points) and forecasting out 3 years (36 monthly data points). The problem is the BFL/PAL functions only allow us to run the function for one product at a time. HANA is not very efficient at looping though data, we are suppose to avoid loops. If each run of the forecast takes 2 seconds to read, calculate the write the data that is a total 5.55 hours. We have not been able to find a way to force HANA to run the statistical forecasts in parallel. If we could run 120 in parallel it would take 2.77 minutes.
Is there a way to run BFL/PAL statistical functions in parallel for a large data set for multiple ‘products'. Everything we have found is calling it with one ‘ product’ at a time We have looked at S&OP on HANA code but could not work out how it is doing statistical forecasts, we expect this would have been solved with S&OP on HANA.
As a backup we have configured the old BW-IP statistical forecasting functions. This runs for the whole data set at once and takes about 15 mins, a lot faster than the new HANA based PAL functions. This is a potential work around but not ideal.

Unfortunately there is very little information available in your post to assist you. If you were able to upgrade the sandbox and development without any issues then check if all the systems in the landscape are consistent (kernel level, client libraries and DB version / patch level) and if they are then check with SAP support.
Good Luck

Yes, that's why I added it. No need for other readers to look at the note when it's so tiny.
Hi Dipak,
SAP Event Management drives separately to set the status attributes based on Event Handler Creation, Update and Event Message. There are standard activity methods STATUS_CHECK and STATUS_SET delivered by SAP. STATUS_CHECK is used to check status of status attributes and STATUS_SET is used to set the statuses like Loaded, Arrived, Shipped, Departed, Collected etc.
You can create your own statuses and set statuses based on your configuration on following areas:
Updating Event Handlers - IMG -> Event Management -> Event Handlers and Event Handler Data -> Event Handlers -> Define Activities for Updating Event Handlers
Expected Event Monitor - IMG -> Event Management -> Event Handlers and Event Handler Data -> Expected Events -> Define Activities for the Expected Event Monitor
Ruleset- IMG -> Event Management -> Reaction to Event Messages -> Define Rule Sets
Let us know if you need more information.

Hello,
TS900000003 should be of type BOR DECISION Method PROCESS. General assignment is maintained correctly.
Create a background task of type BOR FIPP and method POST after approval step in ' APPROVED' outcome . WF-BATCH will post the document.
You are trying to post at the time at the time of approval.

Hi Michal,
When you say "my log backup is empty regardless of keep/remove use" do you mean MaxDB is not performing the Autolog backups regardless the AUTOLOG_SHOW result being AUTOSAVE IS ON (there is no log backups in the directory of your autolog backups?)
Or do you mean that Symantec NetBackup is not archiving the LOG backup files?
I may suggest to:
1) Check again the Backup template for your AutoLog backup (output directory/file);
2) Check the files dbm.prt and dbm.ebl (external backup log) for additional information.
3) Revisit the archive_stage documentation http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_8/45/3f1ce4119d4e689f12dd81abd9e375/content.htm

Hi Zenon,
When you consider this approach we have to think twice whether you can apply this design. Because Event Message BAPI doesn't hold few things like Application object ID, Acknowledgement data etc
The following table provides an overview of which data you can add, change, or delete through BAPI event message only, so if you are expecting anything on event handler BAPI, then you need to incorporate into the BAPI message.
| Add | Change | Delete |
Info parameters | X | X | X |
Control parameters | X | X | X |
System parameters | - | X | - |
Query IDs | X | X | X |
Tracking IDs | X | X | X |
Additional tracking IDs | X | X | X |
Event handler statuses | - | X | - |
Again, if you have custom BADI /SAPTRX/BADI_EH_S called on your EH_POST then you need to consider on your design,
This approach quite tricky and cumbersome work. When you do SAP EM upgrade then need to check any new methods implemented and called in EH_POST by SAP, then you need to implement in your new BAPI message design.
I have always request customer to leave the standard SAP designs (Can call both EH POST and EM Message) and copy and make custom on according to their requirements. Because down the line, it will cost TCO on customer side if we break the standard changes.

Hi S,
from your question you are saying you want to map all those nodes with the same member IDs?
what do you mean by node A, B, C?
If you replace XXXX with only A then of course you will be getting duplicates as you have 3 similar IDs to start with.
Please tell us what your final results should look like.
Andy
Hi Marcal,
Did you manage to get anywhere with this? We currently have the same requirement with the Functional Location search which you mentioned earlier.
Bill - Have the been any changes in the SDK that allows for Wildcard / Contains searches on Complex Tables?
Thanks,

Hi Marco
You are saying that the system is recognizing these in the CCR and transferring afte rpush from CCR. CCR does not recognize the discrepancy if there is no active integration model. Second, push from CCR is working, so the integration model is active- another proof.
There are no CIF blocks, so that means the system is not prompting a push or the publication settings are in such a way that they system thinks there is nothing wrong with CIF.
"In SPRO "Mantain Object Specific Settins" is "Only Retransfer After OnLine Transfer": in production enviroment there is the same setting and all is working correctly."
Did you compare the publication settings maintained in your production and ESM systems? Make sure the order types you are checking are not setup in publication settings as "immediate transfer" or "Only Retransfer After OnLine Trasnsfer".
These settings are separately done in each of the instances.
One final thing I can suggest ( I don't think would be the reason but just checking) is to see if more than one integration model is active in ECM for the same order type and selection.
Hope this helps.
you can check here http://help.sap.com/hr_integration/ we have listed all the iflows Are you also referring to SF to SAP for payroll? ie Time, Org and Pay related ones?
Hi
I want to create a tirgger point . Here is the scenario.

Hi Hari,
As I have mentioned in my 1st post, extended notification is the SAP recommended way to send the emails for pending workitems.
If your business requirement is just to notify the user and not trigger any workflow/action items to users then you can use the Userexit/BADI to trigger the email programatically. But if the users have pending action items then extended notifications is the best way to send reminder emails. You can use userexits/custom reports to send emails for pending items but it is an overkill.
