Re: recover of hot backup

Hi Govindaraj Natarajan,

1)

Yes, Enabling hot backup option in CMC is not only enough to take backup, and it has to be configured Database Vendor Backup tools to store the data.

Few of the clients they will be performing manual backup by using Import and Export method to take the Backup/Restore CMS or Audir DB.

2)

Maximum Hotback Duration:

Default is set to 240. this setting specifies the maximum amount of time that you actual

the backup . ( from the time when the CMS backup begins to the time when the FRS backup

ends).

We need to find the actual time ( Actual time to Copy CMS+FRS+AUDIT to the backup system) before setting this value.

This value will vary to environment based on the system. This value should be more for the Large environment ( Which will have very Big CMS DB and  huge FRS holds old schedule instances.)

Keep in mind that it is important to understand that this setting needs to be longer than the actual time it takes to back up your repository. If this setting is shorter, it could cause some files in the repository not to be backed up, because the CMS has already deleted the entrees. So it is better to overestimate the time required. Balance this concern against system resources because a high value may slightly increase your FRS file store size by creating orphan files.

Hot Backup syncs the CMS database and Filestore for consistency, hence does not allow files to be deleted from Filestore for a period mentioned in Maximum Hotback Duration. All the orpahn files will be dissapeared, once they cross the Hotbackup duration.

3)

check progress of status on this back up: As per my understanding, it is not possible to check the progress from the BO side. We can check the from DB Backup vendor tools.

PF the below image of for the example.

Re: SNP Optimizer and Shelf Life Planning

$

Hi Anand,

Do you want to keep "Shelf Life" constraint as a hard constraint (can't be violated) or soft constraint (can be violated with some penalty) ? Check in the optimizer profile, what options you have selected for modeling the shelf life.

HARD CONSTRAINT : To ensure shelf life is considered as a hard constraint by the optimizer, select the Dispose of Expired Product option in the shelf life section of the optimizer profile  Note that the "Use Penalty Costs that are not Prod-Dep".option should not be checked as it would produce unexpected results,

The optimizer uses the procurement cost as the disposal cost when this option is not checked, which produces the optimum results. The optimizer tries to minimize the disposal of the expired product. It would not produce anything that can result in products expiring without being used, as the optimizer would incur disposal costs for disposing of the expired product.

SOFT CONSTRAINT: If you want shelf life restrictions to be able to be violated (i.e.,if an expired product can still be used), then you can model this as a soft constraint in SNP optimizer. Select the Continue Using Expired Product option in the shelf life section of the optimizer profile to allow this to happen. You should select the Use Penalty Costs that are not Prod-Dep. option so that the optimizer uses this cost as a penalty cost for shelf life condition violations instead of the product procurement cost. Therefore, when

shelf life is modelled as a soft constraint, the optimizer might use the expired products (if

required), but would incur the penalty costs maintained in the optimization profile. Due

to the penalty costs, the optimizer would avoid using the expired products. Try to keep this penalty cost as high as possible.

Is it possible to fill Universe Query Prompts via action script?

$

I have a query that has a beginning and ending date range that I've setup with prompts.  I would like to fill these prompts with action script based on a cleaner popup window that I will present to the user.  Is this possible?  I've checked to see if prompts get mapped as global variables automatically but they don't seem to.

Maybe there is a better way to do this but it seems to me that setFilter only handles = and inlist operations not ranges or inequalities so I was trying to fill the prompt which does support those operations.

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Dhaval,

You use this :

oTable.getBinding('rows').filter(aFilters).getContexts('101');

This will increase the size of getContexts method.

Re: Filling field to select it in SNP planning map as selection condition

Hi Eva,

To populate additional field automatically in APO via CIF, you can use the outbound userexit (CIFMAT01) in ECC or inbound userexit (EXIT_/SAPAPO/SAPLCIF_PROD_001) on the APO side.

If the "merchandise category" field is available in ECC in master data fields or in some other table, then you can implement the outbound userexit in ECC (CIFMAT01) and populate the additional attributes in the product master .

SAP note "1534157 - Transfer of material master data from R/3 to APO : Extend CIF structure via User Exit" details how this can be done.

How do I filter approval requests generated from workflows

$

Hi Experts,

I am trying to create a Training Approval Application for Mobile. I have created a web service using SAP netweaver gateway.

This web service gives me all the approval based work items for that manager. These include - Attendance requests, regularization requests, training requests etc.

What i need to do is just filter the training related requests and pass it on to my web-service and skip the others.

How can I apply this filter?

Any idea as to how this can be done?

Issue with T-code: F101

$

Hello Experts,

What is the functionality of F101. Will it pull the report of all balances of Customers (Customer credits & debits) & Vendors (vendor credits & debits) initially when we run without any filters of account type.

I want to know the output of this T-code step by step, customization part as well.

My customer issue is:

When user run F101, there are two strange records coming so that the program has generated two strange posting document : 5000003044,5000003045

The detail information from F101 program regarding to these two strange posting can be found in vendor : 131106, 16893

As far as we know since the balance are in credit side in these two vendors, it should not be regrouped.

Please clarify.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Shekhar.

Hi Cecilia,

You can use LSMW for upload of assets.

Hope it wont have any impact on the performance of the system.

If you are still doubtful better split the upload into some five or ten. i.e. upload in the batches of 5000 or 10000.

Hope it is clear.

Hi Piyush,

The SSO logon is not configured poperly.

I think you can still logon by clickin button "Log On", you should get the pop up where you can enter your SAP user and password.

If its not working, please contact basis team to configure the necessary settings to run web dynpro applications.

Please refer the below link for to about the setttins to be done.

Hope this helps you.

Dear Guru's,

Last few weeks the system performance has been very slow. Also my DSO fail to activate on weekends with resource error . Upon observation i noticed that the DIA work processes are always fully occupied.

How should i make sure, if it is an issue with the Basis Tables or BW ?

1) All my DTP's taking very long hours. Which tables i should be checking .

I cheked RSBERRORLOG table and it has 0 entries in it.

2) I observe that all my loads getting struck with the error Time limit exceeded error in SM58 in source system .Below are the table sizes:

rdisp/max_wprun_time is set to 10800 sec

ARFCSSTATE - 152 entries

ARFCRSTATE - 3160 entries

ARFCSDATA   - 21,239 entries

TRFCQOUT     - 10 entries

rest 0 entries

ECC

ARFCSSTATE - 2,584,487

ARFCRSTATE - 23 entries

ARFCSDATA   - 6,149,489 entries

TRFCQOUT     - 2,583,278 entries

could it be a cause ? Should be checking any thing else?

Thanks & Regards,

Sudhir
