Hi,
We are using MDGF 7.0 for profit center governance and are activating the profit centers for all the company codes that are assigned to the controlling area. We are in the middle of a major roll out where multiple countries are being added to the ECC ledger at different times and every time an entity is added, we are required to manually activate all the profit centers to the newly added company codes.
Is there an automatic way of activating the profit centers for all the company codes being newly added without going through a manual file upload or conversion process?

Unfortunately CR 10 is too old to be able to access the registration Servers. Only option is to upgrade or ignore it.
If those old PC's are still available you could try looking in the registry for the registration number and copy/create the keys.
About all you can do now.

In view V_T52OCR: i have an off cycle reason for absence with category for off-cycle reason "05 - Absence payment" for vacations.
In view V_T52OCV: for the application CEDT, report RPCEDTX0 i created an variant with my payroll schema.
In view V_T52OCA: for the off cycle reason and ps grouping i indicated the absence type

We have 98 GB of physical memory and 96 GB of swap memory in SUSE Linux. But when loading data or performing any other transactions it occupies only 7%(around 6-7 GB) of physical memory. Data loading takes more time since it does not use the entire available memory. I want the system to utilize entire available physical memory to process the users request. Is there any parameter to allocate memory for application server? Is there any solution to increase RAM usage?

Will this change in table level take as a part of continuous replication?
I replicated a table from Hana to ECC. it failed with error saying duplicate records similar to your case.
I modified the transfer behaviour to 3 and it allowed all records.
but now when the Hana source system has new entries and modifications happening, they dont get replicated to ECC.
while creating from hana to ecc slt configuration, i selected scenario as standard rfc scenario.
For replicating real time from haan to ecc, which scenario should be selected?

Hi,
It's correct that you can add a new field without any issue. However it depends of your data and it depends if your new fileds (InfoObject) is part of the KEY (BLUE) or is just another characteristic (YELLOW).
So,
If it is part of the key definition in the DS or DSO, you will duplicate information with the first data and the new one. If it is no part of the KEYs, you will replace the old data with new data and you will have the new IO.
Whatever you decide to do, to ensure no issue with data or duplicate any information, I will recommend to delete and reload. If not possible, at least delete from the cube, add the new IO, reload to DSO and load to cube.
Note: Add an IO is always allowed, but if you replace an IO, you should always delete previous data.
Here a very quickly example of the difference in adding a field in the KEY section or as a new IO.

We have an investment project with several WBS elements which will be setteled to a AuC, by using an invesment profile we can create AuC when project is released, problem is one AuC is created for each WBS element, this creates a bit of chaos on financial reports and we have recieved a request for all WBS to setlle against the same AuC instead of several.
One way would be manually creating the AuC and then assing it to the settlement rule but this way we loose the automatization gained by asigning an investment profile. Is there a standard way to change this system behavior?

I am using CR XI version 11.5.12 .1838 and I have a report where 20 users are running this report on a daily basis and I have noticed an error happens sometimes and the error is (Invalid TLV Record) and I took the exact report and just renamed it to something else and the users are able to run the report without any issue and here is what I noticed.
The users are opening the report and passing the parameters and they get the result they need but if they need to run the report again they open another and leave the one they had open before and this keep happening all day so at some point then error starts to happen. my question is this
Is there away to limit how many times CR report can be opened per user?
Note: please note all users have a shared drive and they are opening the same exact report. I wanted to know if there is way I can limit how many times a user can open that same report.
For example if user A open the reports 10 times on PC and I wanted to do something either if she tries the 11 times and give her a message to close the previous or just close the previous report if it reaches for example 10.

The best solution is to find & use a BAPI.
BDCs are not good at handling screens in general, or table controls in particular.

Generally speaking, the 3.x dataflows work just fine after the upgrade without migrating to 7.x.
Consider ABAP OO. ABAP changed along way to be object oriented. If your update rules are ABAP heavy, test thoroughly. My rule during upgrades is that if i have to touch a 3.x data flow, it is simpler to migrate it to 7.x and make repair in 7.x.
No, you don't need to modify your InfoProviders either. They should work correctly, if not optimally, post-upgrade. It is perfectly acceptable to "clean as you go" , modifying objects as changing business requirements or performance tuning requires you to touch the object.
No, you don't need to execute SAP_BW_BEFORE_UPGRADE before upgrading. However, the upgrade will take longer if you haven't done your housekeeping.
To find out compatible versions, check the Product Availability Matrix

Check your upgrade to fine out the best path. If the upgrade guide allows as direct upgrade, use it.
