We can look at optimizing this calculation at backend unless the measure itself a derived variable with extended calculation syntax based on database .
Ex : In universe try to include where clause for the measure with Prompt
or If it's BEx , try to restrict the key figure with variable .

I assume you are using SOVN OrgChart, but it is unclear what version, architecture, etc. you are using - please see Welcome and Guidelines for Posting Discussions for more details.
You can apply filters (just search for "filters" in the admin guide for your version of the VSN app) via AdminConsole to exclude data either to the extract (staged) or the RFC (live/hybrid) ... but I'd query if this is in fact what you really want to do? I don't doubt at all that you have such a requirement, I'm really just playing a bit of devil's advocate for taking a more standard approach is all.
The blue boxes are the org units - not the managers of org units. The yellow boxes are positions within org units. Logically the org unit manager is a position and so "should" appear as a yellow box beneath a blue box.
When selecting a yellow box you are provided with a set of details about the position and any incumbent employee. When selecting a blue box you are provided with a set of details about the org unit which includes a small set of information about the manager position and incumbent employee. If the manager is not to be included as a position how would you view the position and incumbent employee information for the manager? Would you propose to have the user search each time, modify the org unit details panel to include the position details, trust the user to hyperlink to the position details panel from the org unit details panel, or something else?
I would imagine that I'd personally push back against this in case it causes confusion for users, retaining standard functionality and not intentionally hiding/reducing visibility of pertinent data. Especially if users are referring to the inbuilt help. Though if it is a small managed user base (e.g. a handful of HR teams) then I could see that being easily mitigated.

Sorry, I haven't tried using REST services with DS yet, although I have experience using the BI REST service, and SOAP services with DS. I tried adjusting your wadl to fit my environment, but I wasn't even able to import the function. Can you tell me how you generated to wadl and imported the function? Is there a document you followed I can reference?

Development of File Interface
Hi,
I am working on an interface in SCM which pulls out Material Master data and Batch Master data. This will be a background job. the table for Batch Master is one of the important table in SCM system and lot many jobs might be hitting this table.
My concern is Batch Master table is having just two primary keys and one secondary index and both of these are not helping me much as my search criteria is not any any of these indexes. In production we might be having millions of records, so does it make sense to create one more secondary index to make the performance better.

Gateway, X.509 and Fiori on Android
I have a problem where user certificates have been correctly loaded on to an Android device, but when invoking the Fiori client application on Android device, we are getting a "No certificates found" dialog error.
I found SAP Note 2132513 - Fiori client not finding a certificate on Android device which describes my situation exactly. One solution is to ignore the error, which pushes the user to the login screen. This is unacceptable because the business wants / needs SSO capability.
The other solution is to disable X509 challenges from the gateway server. This concerns me because it implies that SSO using X509 is not possible with Fiori on Android, which doesn't sound right (FWIW, we are not getting the issue on our Windows or IOS devices)
Is it related to the Fiori App using the AuthProxy plugin incorrectly ?,
Could someone enlighten me as to what I am missing ?

Inbound Process / Fact Table Calculation Issue in IDT
Hey guys,
I'm trying to display the following inbound scenario.
PO# | PO# Item | Material# | PO Qty | Mat Movement Qty
Therefore I can see whether I have received the full amount I have purchased.
The PO# is based on Fact Table 1 and Mat Movement Items based on Fact Table 2 (plus various dimension tables for Material, Vendor etc.)
I join both fact tables through a bridge table but when I have 1 PO with 3 Material Movements it sums up the PO Qty times 3. How can I avoid this in the Universe Designer?
Data after the join:

Incomplete Material Number in SD Fiori Apps
Hello!
I'm trying some of the SD Apps (for SAP ERP 6.0) and everything is working fine, but the Material number is showing only the last character of the material, like
Material Number = "123-123456"
In Fiori = "6 -"
Track Sales Order
Change Shipping Address
Create Sales Order*
*Actually when i was first trying the Create Sales Order I Had to apply the note: 2210711 because when i create a sales order from materials at the end the app show an error indicating that Material was not defined... Now only happens when i take the materials from old orders.
So i'm thinking that the problem is in some generic function that return the items of orders that all 3 apps use, but i was unable to find another note with that, or maybe i need to apply some support package or something
Anyone face this problem before?

I think I understand your point, you want me create a var which return sum or null, and then filter the var. I tried created it and not working after apply the filter.
Nothing changed after I unchecked "On table properties, make sure that , under General, the option "Show rows with all empty measure values".
Also, I tried to created var =If(Not([Month]<3)) Then "Y" Else "N" and applied the filter, retuned the same incorrect data.....

I am now using HANA XS as you suggested. I am also using HAP HANA Web based Development Bench instead of Eclipse.
I followed the instructions in the tutorial (link quoted on the top) and created files .xsapp, .xsaccess and helloworld.xjs however when I run, I get error '404 - Not Found . We could not find the resource you were trying to access. It might be misspelled or currently not available.'
What could be wrong? Attached is screen shot of workbench.
